HANDI-MAN PAINTING AND HOME IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
The Handi-Man Painting and Home Improvement program provides community and neighborhood homeowners cost effective home improvement, repairs and rehab. The program is a scattered sites training program that provides hands-on job training in the field of carpentry, painting and basic home improvement to youth ages 16 through 21.
Elijah’ s House Handi-Man Painting and Home Improvement is a scattered sites training program that provides hands-on job training in the field of carpentry, painting and basic home improvement to males ages 16 through 24 years. The Handi-Man Painting and Home Improvement program's unque design provides opportunities in immediate on-the-job training within a trade profession helping to promote employment and skills development of teens as apprentices. Employee/trainees involved in the Handi-Man Painting and Home Improvement Program are provided step-by-step training as they acquire general skills and attain basic knowledge of tools, equipment, materials site/project preparation, maintenance and safety.
The program specifically provides opportunities in immediate hands-on job training within a trade profession as it helps to promote employment and skills development for at risk youth, young adults and ex-offenders. Elijah's House Handit-Man Painting and Home Improvement is a hands-on job training program and staffed with trained instructors including a retired-foreman, one senior site instructor and two junior instructors who are both knowledgeable and experienced in the field of painting and home improvement. Participants are hired as employee/trainees are required to learn the craft through performance and implementation Trainees involved in the Handi-Man Painting and Home Improvement Program are provided step-by-step training by experienced instructors. Our program curriculum is a combination of on-the-job training and related site instruction in which workers learn the practical and theoretical aspects of a highly skilled occupation thrugh application.

Pre-technical skills provide apprentices with the preliminary knowledge base to get started:
